Vor dem polyphone Gespräch SIRENS – FOLLOW THE WATER, FOLLOW THE SOUND mit geladenen Künstler:innen inszeniert die Ruth Baettig in Zusammenarbeit mit der Sopranistin Johanna Greulich eine performative Sound Intervention, die das Thema des anschliessenden Panels in eine sirenenartige Aktion übersetzt. Der Gesang der Sirenen kann von einer Anziehungskraft und Warnung in ein Vehikel für Tagträume und klare Vorstellungskraft verwandelt werden. Hier wird Verzauberung zu einer kollektiven und polyphonen Praxis der Raumerfahrung, ausgestattet mit Fähigkeiten im Zusammenhang mit Verlust, Fürsorge und Heilung sowie der Erforschung von mehr als menschlichen Beziehungen.

Die gesungene Melodie ohne Text wurde aus «Il Deserto Rosse» von Michelangelo Antonioni entlehnt, transkribiert und interpretiert.

Before the polyphonic conversation SIRENS – FOLLOW THE WATER, FOLLOW THE SOUND with invited artists, Ruth Baettig, in collaboration with the soprano Johanna Greulich, stages a performative sound intervention that translates the topic of the subsequent panel into a siren-like action. The sirens’ song can be transformed from an attraction and warning into a vehicle for daydreams and lucid imagination. Here, enchantment becomes a collective and polyphonic practice of spatial experience, equipped with skills related to loss, care and healing, as well as the exploration of more than human relationships.

The sung melody without lyrics was borrowed, transcribed and interpreted from «Il Deserto Rosse» by Michelangelo Antonioni.
