City Tour Yerevan

Armenien schreibt eine lange, schmerzhafte und zu gleich unglaublich reiche Geschichte. Zeugnis bilden die zahlreichen Kulturgüter aus alter und neuer Zeit in und um Yerevan, der Hauptstadt Armeniens. Wie ist es möglich von “Geschichte” zu sprechen, sie zu vermitteln? Ein Tourismusbüro mitten in Yerevan wird angefragt, eine Tour zu organisieren. Eine professionelle Touristenführerin wird engagiert und zusammen mit einer Gruppe Touristen wird eine übliche Tour gemacht. Dabei tritt immer wieder eine weiss gekleidete Figur in Erscheinung, die die Szene durchquert, durchhüpft, durchkrabbelt.
Im Verlaufe der Tour entwickelt sich die Performanz der beiden Protagonisten: Guide und weiss gekleidete Figur. Somit auch das Verhältnis zu einer möglichen Geschichtsschreibung.

Armenia has a long, painful and at the same time incredibly rich history. Testimony to this are the numerous cultural assets from old and new times in and around Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. How is it possible to speak of “history”, to convey it? A tourist office in the middle of Yerevan is asked to organize a tour. A professional tourist guide is hired and together with a group of tourists a usual tour is made. A figure dressed in white appears again and again, crossing, jumping and crawling through the scene.
In the course of the tour the performance of the two protagonists develops: the guide and the figure dressed in white. Thus also the relationship to a possible historiography.
