City Tour Yerevan

Armenia’s history is long, painful, and yet incredibly rich. This is evident in the many cultural landmarks from both ancient and modern times found in and around Yerevan, the capital city. But how can one truly speak of “history” and convey its complexity? To explore this, a tourist office in central Yerevan was commissioned to organize a city tour. A professional tour guide was hired, and together with a group of tourists, a typical sightseeing route was followed. Throughout the tour, a figure dressed entirely in white repeatedly appears—crossing, jumping, and crawling through the scenes.

As the tour unfolds, a dynamic performance emerges between the two protagonists—the guide and the white-clad figure—opening up new perspectives on the relationship between storytelling, history, and historiography.
