Performance project | Video installation in universal RAKO boxes on wheels | Cleaning sounds, audio | 2016

With quiet enthusiasm and careful attention, Ruth Baettig cleans floors, wipes windows, and vacuums away dust—rituals of care that transform the exhibition rooms into a temporary home for her artworks. Through these gestures, the space is both prepared and honored, made ready to receive the fragile presence of art.

This layered and ambiguous performance unfolds over an extended period, inviting reflection on the very spaces where art is shown—museums, galleries, and other venues. It explores the tension between the visible and the invisible, between creation and maintenance, and suggests that the care of the environment is inseparable from the care of the work itself.
