Hochspannung

The art platform akku is located in the former offices of Viscosuisse in Emmenbrücke – formerly the largest textile company in Switzerland. In this large room are three imposing columns with impressive capitals reminiscent of skein winders. These elements led to the site- and space-related performative intervention «Hochspannung – High Tension»: A red being, initially tied tightly to the column, unfolds itself from the column in slow movements. For 135 minutes, the elastic viscose cloth stretches into the room, the body/being/thing held in it creates an image, a drawing in the space, a form that changes again and again. The “high tension” is discharged at the end of the intervention, which can be varied over time. The body/the red being stays there for a few more minutes. What remains of the intervention in the exhibition is the red fabric cloth around the column.

«Hochspannung – High Tension» was developed within the Albert Köchlin project Atelier X in the work complex «Terrain Vague» for the exhibition «Ohne Haut Ohne Haus», which was curated by Claudia Waldner.
