Liminal Crackle
Video Installation
Video installation (loop), HD projection onto ash in a metal bucket, mono sound
Liminal Crackle presents a surreal and uncanny video projection onto a layer of ash inside a metal bucket. A vibrant red, ambiguous figure writhes across a bed of grain, its movements evoking a mix of the absurd and the primal. The soundscape consists of crackling, rustling noises—amplified by the friction of moving grain heads—heightening the tactile and uneasy atmosphere.
Neither fully human nor animal, the creature occupies a liminal state: burlesque in gesture, spectral in presence. The bucket acts as both container and stage, transforming into a bunker-like void where identity, body, and matter are destabilized. Liminal Crackle explores the tension between flesh and fiction, containment and eruption—evoking a visceral response through its stark material contrasts and evocative sound design.
